4T Oil Blending Plant

This project profile outlines the setup of a 4T lube oil blending and packaging plant primarily catering to the motorcycle and two-wheeler market. Base oil is mixed with high-performance additive packages and viscosity index improvers in a heated blending kettle to achieve the required lubrication grade. The final product is filtered, filled into standard 900 ml containers, induction-sealed, and packaged in cartons for commercial distribution.

Manufacturing process

  1. Receiving and bulk storage of base oils, performance additives, and viscosity index improvers.
  2. Pumping calculated quantities of base stock into the blending kettle.
  3. Adding additives and viscosity index improver packages at controlled operating temperatures.
  4. Mechanical agitation and homogenization of the mixture to form a uniform lubricant blend.
  5. Transferring the blended 4T oil through inline filtration systems into holding and settling tanks.
  6. Filling into 900 ml plastic bottles using semi-automatic filling machines.
  7. Induction sealing, screw capping, labeling, batch printing, and packing into master corrugated cartons.

Market

India is the third-largest lubricant consumer globally, driven heavily by the motorcycle and two-wheeler sector which represents over 80% of vehicle production. Motorcycle engine oils (4T) form the single largest automotive lubricant segment.
