Manufacturing process
- Feed calcium carbide granules into the water-filled reaction chamber using a generator with rotating screw and pressure controls.
- Agitate the chamber with rotating paddles to ensure complete reaction and prevent granule floating.
- Draw off the acetylene gas under low pressure and cool it using a water spray.
- Pass gas through a flash arrester and remove byproduct calcium carbonate slurry.
- Scrub the gas to remove ammonia and impurities using a purifier system.
- Compress the gas through three stages to reach final cylinder pressure.
- Pass through high-pressure dryers to remove moisture and oil vapors.
- Fill into cylinders containing liquid acetone and a porous filler material for safe transport.
