Automobile Control Cables

This business manufactures automatic control cables used in various two and three-wheeler vehicles such as scooters, motorcycles, and auto-rickshaws for functions like braking, clutching, and acceleration. The manufacturing process involves twisting stainless steel wires, cutting them to size, end-finishing with molten zinc, and die-casting zinc stoppers before packaging.

Manufacturing process

  1. Reel S.S. wire of required standard wire gauge into bobbins on the reel winder and load onto the wire twisting machine.
  2. Twist the required number of S.S. wires into a single stranded continuous length cable.
  3. Cut the stranded cable to the required size using a wire cutting machine.
  4. Butt one end of the wire and dip it into molten zinc to prevent strand opening.
  5. Fix a zinc stopper of required design and size at the other end using a die on a pressure die-casting machine.
  6. Inspect the finished cables and pack them into printed poly bags for marketing.

Market

Auto control cables have a wide and continuous replacement market in scooters, motorcycles, auto-rickshaws, and mopeds. They are demanded by mechanics and service stations, and are packaged in dozen-packs for distribution through auto part dealers and shops.
