Manufacturing process

  1. Perform land preparation including ploughing, leveling, and digging pits.
  2. Refill pits with topsoil mixed with FYM, neem cake, and insecticides.
  3. Plant hardened tissue culture banana seedlings during appropriate planting seasons.
  4. Install and operate drip irrigation and fertigation systems for water and nutrient management.
  5. Carry out interculture operations, weeding, and foliar spray of micronutrients.
  6. Perform denavelling (removal of male buds), bunch spraying, and sleeving.
  7. Prop leaning plants with bamboo poles to support heavy bunches.
  8. Harvest banana bunches at physiological maturity and conduct post-harvest operations.

Market

Banana is the second most important fruit crop in India with high demand, year-round availability, and good export potential. Processed products like chips, puree, and powder also add to the market demand.
