Manufacturing process
- Load PLA blends and additives into a mixing vessel and homogenize thoroughly.
- Feed the blended material into the hopper of the plastic extrusion and blow film machine.
- Melt the PLA blend inside the extruder and inflate it vertically using a circular die to form an inflated plastic sheet.
- Pass the inflated sheet through nip rollers to flatten the film and wind it into large cores.
- Unwind the film roll in the converting department and optionally treat it with electrostatic waves for printing.
- Print logos and messages on the film using the printing machine if required.
- Cut the film into the correct dimensions and seal the ends simultaneously using hot knives.
- Reuse any scrap material back into the production cycle, then pack the finished bags into large bundles for storage and dispatch.
Market
Biodegradable plastic bags and packaging materials have high demand due to environmental regulations restricting traditional single-use plastics, with applications across grocery carrying, food storage, garbage bags, and agricultural mulching films.
