Manufacturing process
- Procure and store PVC DEHP-free pellets in a clean environment.
- Feed pellets into the extruder hopper to melt the material through barrel heating and screw rotation.
- Force the molten polymer through a circular die into the film blowing machine, injecting air to expand the film into a bubble.
- Cool, solidify, and roll the blown PVC films.
- Feed the PVC blown film into a cutting machine to cut sheets to desired bag dimensions.
- Position PVC tubing using profile dies and weld the PVC films into the final bag shape using a PVC welding machine, trimming excess edges.
- Sterilize the finished blood bags using high-pressure steam in an autoclave.
- Conduct quality testing for seal integrity, low-temperature resistance, and sterility before packaging and dispatch.
Market
The global blood bag market experiences steady growth driven by increasing healthcare needs, rising numbers of surgical procedures, and an emphasis on safe, disposable blood collection and component separation units.
