Manufacturing process
- Purchase rolled sheets of paper and paper boards and cut them to size using the cutting machine.
- Align or slice pages and perform thread sewing to form the final book block.
- Trim the three edges of the book block down to the desired size using the three-knife trimmer.
- Send the trimmed block to the backing and rounding machine to give the spine a convex shape.
- Compress the book (nipping) to let excess air escape, coat end papers with adhesive, and press the cover onto the book block using the casing-in machine.
