Raw materials & machinery

Manufacturing process

  1. Processing Ingots: Metals are blended to shape ingots.
  2. Heating: Ingots are heated to become malleable.
  3. Beating: Shapes are beaten using mallets with varying weights and wooden supports until bent to the required curve.
  4. Cooling: Post shaping, the metal is allowed to cool.
  5. Assembling: Parts are assembled and welded into a unanimous whole.
  6. Scraping: The inside dingy layers of cooking vessels are scraped off.
  7. Coating: The base surface is warmed, adhered to lac, and covered with tin oil to prevent food from sticking during cooking.
  8. Finishing: Washing with acid to achieve a golden appearance and decorating or carving designs onto the metal.

Market

The brassware industry is primarily concentrated in Uttar Pradesh, representing a significant portion of creation and exports. Major export destinations include the USA, Saudi Arabia, UK, Canada, and European countries.
