Manufacturing process

  1. Untie coir bristle bundles and subject fibers to a combing process using steel spikes to remove pith, short fibers, and parallelize the material.
  2. Saw wooden logs to size using band saws and circular saws, then plane and shape them using thickness planers, lathes, and jig saws.
  3. Drill holes into the shaped wooden sections using sensitive drilling machines.
  4. Cut combed coir fibers to suitable lengths and form individual tufts by pinning and binding them with 'U'-shaped bent GI wire.
  5. Press the fiber tufts into the drilled wooden holes by hammering at the wire bends.
  6. Shear the top portions of the finished brush using a top shearing machine or scissors to achieve uniform pile height.

Market

Coir brushes are widely demanded household and industrial cleaning tools with steady requirements across domestic, commercial, and institutional sectors.
