Primary raw material for fibre extraction
Manufacturing process
- Sprinkle coconut husks with water and allow them to condition for a few hours.
- Feed husks into the disintegrator/buster to achieve initial fibre disintegration.
- Transfer disintegrated material to the decorticator/beater to complete fibre extraction.
- Clean and sift the extracted fibre using a revolving screener.
- Press and bale the finished coir fibre for storage and commercial distribution.
Market
Coir fibre is widely accepted due to its eco-friendly and biodegradable nature. It serves as the primary raw material for coir yarn and various other coir-based products, with strong demand replacing traditional retting methods.
