Manufacturing process
- Prepare the land and plant lemongrass slips in rows.
- Perform regular irrigation, weeding, and maintenance during the 5-month gestation period.
- Harvest the fresh herbs at ground level.
- Load the harvested herbs into the stainless steel distillation unit.
- Apply steam to extract the oil from the herbs via steam distillation.
- Collect and refine the resulting lemongrass oil for commercial sale.
Market
Market demand is driven by the use of citral extracted from the oil in the production of Vitamin-A, artificial flavors, perfumes, and pharmaceutical preparations like pain balms and mosquito repellents.
