Manufacturing process
- Quarrying or mining of limestone
- Crushing and screening the limestone to required size
- Feeding the limestone into a horizontal rotary kiln
- Decomposition at high temperature (900-1100°C) to produce calcium oxide and carbon dioxide
- Cooling the lime in a drum cooler to approximately 80°C
- Packing the finished lime for storage and delivery
