Raw materials & machinery

Manufacturing process

  1. Procure raw cashew nuts from vendors and store them in the raw material warehouse.
  2. Feed raw cashew nuts to the steam cooker to aid shell removal.
  3. Allow cooked cashews to remain undisturbed for some holding time, then feed them to the shell cutting machine.
  4. Separate cashew from husk using a vibrator separator, then manually remove shell remnants using knives on a conveyor sorting area.
  5. Dry cashews in an oven to reduce moisture, followed by holding time in a humidity-controlled chamber.
  6. Peel the cashews using a pneumatic peeling machine and separate whole, half, and broken kernels.
  7. Grade cashews based on size, pass through a metal detector, package, and send for sale.

Market

India's processed cashew market has witnessed rapid growth driven by changing consumption patterns and an increased share of flavored and assorted cashew products in retail spaces. The industry remains largely export-oriented while enjoying strong domestic demand.
